AIIMS

The All India institute of medical science (AIIMS) is a group of autonomous public medical colleges of higher education in India.



History and Background 

AIIMS was established in 1956 under the AIIMS Act ,1956.

The idea was supported by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and first health minster Rajkumari Amrit Kaur.

The main aim was to create a center of excellence for

  • Research 
  •  Patient care
AIIMS, New Delhi was the First Institute in India.

There are 26 AIIMS in India with some still under develop.

      All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)            Raebareli is a public medical university and research institute. Located in Munshigang, Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, it's one of the newest AIIMS institutions in India and aims to provide high-quality medical education, training, healthcare, and research.

      History and Background

      AIIMS Rae Bareli, officially known as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rae Bareli, was established in 2013 as part of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) Phase-II. It's an autonomous institute of national importance, mentored by PGIMER, Chandigarh. The institute became operational with the opening of its outpatient department (OPD) in 2018.

AIIMS Raebareli is actively engaged in providing quality patient care and community outreach, including awareness programs and skill training for healthcare professionals. They participated in the Mahakumbh Meela 2025, providing medical services at a camp hospital and training personnel in disaster management and emergency care.
